Caribbean identity is complex and multi-layered influenced by the various ways people arrived to the Caribbean. Some came thru the Transatlantic slave trade, Indentureship, Refuge, etc. With this migration, people brought their origin histories, traditions, and culture to create the beautiful Mosaic of the Caribbean.
Caribbean people reside all over the world and a large percentage Live, Work & Play in the USA. "Being Caribbean" goes far beyond geography. It is a laid back community-focused lifestyle with strong family values. No two nations are exactly alike. Yet, they each have a similar vibrant cultural identity. They differ distinctly thru Customs and Dialect. But, we are known for our welcoming communal spirit. Sharing Meals, Music & Celebrations forms the core of daily social life.

Back in the 60's & 70's most Caribbean people migrated to North America. They were known to celebrate events at "Basement Bashments". After the great southern migration. We took the celebrations to Backyards for 'Dance off' contests & Parties. When the new Restaurants & Nightclubs emerged we all found our Spot & hung out with new Friends. Now, we have a plethora of Entertainment Venues & Carnival Events to enjoy. Our Story continues . . . .
